I believe and per Oregon Statue that our City of Newberg is double billing our residents, first shut off notice $15fee if turned off additional $15 then another $30 on next bill

Extremely frustrated & highly offended. I paid my water bill online (as usual) prior to the due date, then left for a week to attend my Mother's funeral. Upon returning I had TWO notices from newberg water. First one was demand of the payment I had already made, with an additional charge of $20.00 penalty. This was a Friday so I attempted to call but their offices were closed for a holiday I wasn't even aware of. The next day (Saturday, so their offices were still closed) I received yet another notice (I was only gone for ONE week!) threatening to add another $50.00 penalty on top of the $20.00 AND turn my water off if I did not pay within 2 days! I have NEVER been delinquent on my account, I made the payment online & I was only gone for a week. This type of behavior is unnecessarily aggressive & terribly offensive. I will not take this quietly.

Water bills that always round up to the next unit of water, so you are always paying for more than you use = awesome!!! If only the technology that the customers paid for could be used to make billing efficient and fair. Also the rates are higher than most other places when you calculate all the fees and high cost of storm/sewer divided in to actual water usage - don't believe the cities skewed view of "good rates!" I no longer live in Newberg but also hated the random billing cycles that changed every so often so you could get a nice double bill month right at Christmas.
